The Plains State Bank announces the addition of new Board of Directors

During the July Board of Directors meeting, The Plains State Bank chairman of the board, Dan Clawson welcomed the addition of two new board of directors representing the bank’s expanded footprint in central Kansas. “A.J. and Daran both bring a high level of banking and business expertise that will complement our board of directors. We see them as great partners for our board of directors at our new locations in central Kansas along with our western Kansas locations,” commented Dan Clawson.
A.J. Schwartz is presently the CEO of Morris Laing Evans Brock & Kennedy, Chtd., with its home office in Wichita, Kansas, and other offices nationwide. He has an active practice in the areas of business law, succession planning, oil and gas, financial institution representation, and healthcare. He has extensive experience in the purchase and sale of businesses and their assets. Mr. Schwartz has represented both buyers and sellers in transactions involving the sale of oil and gas properties, financial institutions, healthcare practices, and businesses in many other industries.
He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, in 1974, and a graduate of the University of Kansas School of Law, in 1977. He has long standing ties to the Salina area through his family, is a successful entrepreneur, and serves on a number of boards. A.J. and his wife, Jane, reside in Wichita, and they have three grown children, Eric, A.J. III, and Emily.
Daran Neuschafer is the President of Neuschafer & Associates, Inc. an agency of American Family Insurance in Salina. Daran is a proven leader, and sits in positions of responsibility with American Family Insurance, nationally. Mr. Neuschafer has more than demonstrated his commitment to Salina over the years, as a previous President of the Board of Directors of the Salina Area Chamber of Commerce. His leadership of numerous non-profit organizations in Salina, including the Salina Airport Authority, has made him a person of strong connectivity in the Salina region. He has served on numerous committees at Kansas State University, where he was once a varsity participant on the Wildcat golf team.
He still enjoys competitive golf, as well as spending time with his wife, Kendra, and their kids, Kaitlyn (Neuschafer) Dobratz and Brayden, who attends KSU.
